What’s a normal temperature for a newborn?

Full-term newborns should have a core temperature between 36.5°C and 37.5°C. They need to be kept warm after birth, and prompt medical attention is recommended for any temperature abnormalities. For normal full-term newborns, the core temperature is between 36.5°C and 37.5°C using rectal thermometry. As their thermoregulatory center is still immature and the subcutaneous fat is thin, hypothermia and hypoglycemia may occur if they are not kept warm in time. It is recommended to maintain a suitable ambient temperature, and the neonatal wrap is recommended to be controlled near 24℃. A core body temperature below 35.0℃ is considered hypothermia, and symptoms such as hypotension, bradycardia, abnormal respiratory rhythm, abdominal distension or vomiting may occur.
