Medically, both men and women have a laryngeal knot. However, some women may have a knot in their throat that is not very visible. The laryngeal node is a normal physiological structure of the human body. The two thyroid cartilage plates of the human body meet at the anterior edge to form a certain angle, and the upper end protrudes forward, which is called the laryngeal node. Due to the male puberty androgen secretion increases, the angle formed by its protrusion is more sharp, generally acute angle, so the daily more prominent, for the adult male characteristics; and women formed by the angle is relatively large, mostly obtuse angle, so it is not obvious. In a few women, the laryngeal nodes may be slightly more pronounced due to a thinner body type, or genetic influence. However, the prominence of the laryngeal nodes has no effect on the function of the throat, so there is no need to be overly concerned.
