Recurrence of acoustic neuroma requires re-surgery or precision radiotherapy. Acoustic neuroma is a benign tumor originating from the vestibular or cochlear branch of the auditory nerve, which belongs to benign tumors, and its main treatments are surgery and radiotherapy. The recurrence rate after total tumor resection is 0.7% to 0.8%, and the recurrence rate for intracapsular resection is 18%. Once recurrence occurs, the treatment remains surgical treatment and precision radiotherapy, including gamma knife or radio wave knife. Surgical treatment is best performed under electrophysiological monitoring, which maximizes protection of facial nerve function. It is recommended to go to the doctor for treatment after the recurrence of acoustic neuroma. The doctor will choose the appropriate way of treatment according to the patient’s physical condition, and the patient should go to the hospital for regular checkups after the operation.
