The normal range for a woman’s resting heart rate is 60 to 100 beats per minute. In general, the heart rate at rest usually fluctuates within the range of 60-100 beats per minute. Exceeding this range may occur in physiologic conditions, such as in athletes, the elderly, or in normal people who are asleep, when the heart rate is lower than 60 beats per minute. In normal people, a heart rate of more than 100 beats per minute may occur during exercise, during emotional stress or excitement, or after drinking strong tea or coffee. Heart rate may also increase slightly in women during pregnancy, often not exceeding 120 beats per minute. However, these heart rate variations are normal, mostly without clinical symptoms, and the heart rate can return to the normal range when the relevant triggers are eliminated. Therefore, it is recommended that women who experience abnormal heart rate with obvious symptoms should consult a doctor in a timely manner for standardized diagnosis and treatment.
