Where are panda eyes seen in fractures

Panda’s eyes are seen in anterior skull base fractures, which mainly include fractures of the top of the orbit, corona, frontal sinus, sieve sinus, olfactory groove and other parts of the eye. When the fracture ends are bleeding, the blood will seep into the subcutaneous connective tissue around the eye along the fracture seam, resulting in bruising and swelling of the orbital area, and a bruised subcutaneous bruise can be seen around the orbital area, which resembles a panda’s eye, hence the name. Fractures of the anterior skull base may also be associated with bleeding from the nose and nasal leakage of cerebrospinal fluid. The treatment is mainly conservative, give anti-infection, bed rest, prevent bending, bowing, coughing, sneezing, etc., the periorbital area of the bruise spot will be slowly absorbed and dissipated.
