Patellar wear and tear can be treated by massage, physiotherapy, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, joint cavity injection of sodium vitreous acid, and arthroscopic surgery, as follows: First, massage therapy: through gentle massage, release the spastic tension of the quadriceps, hamstrings, and calf triceps, which can relax the patella, reduce the tension around the patella, and relieve patellar wear and tear. Second, physical therapy: such as ultrashort wave therapy, microwave therapy and shock wave therapy, can improve the inflammation produced by patellar wear and tear and relieve pain symptoms. Third, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug therapy: such as celecoxib and loxoprofen sodium, can relieve patellofemoral inflammation. Fourth, joint cavity injection of sodium vitreous acid: lubricates and protects patellar cartilage, which can improve patellar wear. Fifth, arthroscopic surgical treatment therapy: if conservative treatment is ineffective, arthroscopic surgical treatment can be considered to carry out loosening and tightening of the lateral limb band and tightening of the medial support band to correct the running trajectory of the patellofemoral joint and reduce the wear and tear of the patellar cartilage.
