Can you drink milk with GERD?

You can drink milk with GERD. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is the symptoms and complications caused by the reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus mouth or lungs. Its main etiology is due to both a decline in the esophageal anti-reflux defense mechanism and a weakening of the esophageal mucosal barrier function. Poor gastric emptying and lower esophageal sphincter pressure due to various reasons are important triggers of reflux. GERD should be avoided by consuming foods that may cause reflux, such as coffee, chocolate, spicy or acidic foods, and foods with high fat content. There is no evidence that milk causes poor gastric emptying or lowers lower esophageal sphincter pressure, and it has not been specifically emphasized that milk should not be consumed for GERD, and therefore can be consumed. Milk should be consumed at the right time and in the right amount, and medical attention should be sought if discomfort occurs after consumption.
