How long does it take for a liver transplant drain to clear up

How long it takes to drain a liver transplant depends on the size of the trauma. For relatively small trauma, the drainage can usually be completely clean in 3~7 days; if the trauma is larger, the drainage time will be prolonged. If the trauma after liver transplantation is relatively small, with good postoperative recovery, no related complications, no bleeding symptoms, and no infection or inflammation, the drainage can usually be cleaned up in about 3~7 days, after which the drainage tube can be removed. However, some patients’ own conditions are not good, and after liver transplantation, the liver trauma is relatively large, which is easy to cause postoperative bleeding, bile leakage, etc. If not treated in time, it will be combined with inflammation and infection, and the drainage time of these patients is relatively long. When the exudate liquid gradually decreases and the amount is controlled at about 50~100ml per day, the drain can be removed. If the patient has already undergone liver transplantation, it is recommended to be hospitalized for observation before full recovery, and the doctor will decide the time to remove the drainage tube according to the patient’s recovery condition; after the drainage tube is removed and the body recovers, the patient can be discharged from the hospital.
