Regular follow-up after nasal endoscopic surgery is very important!

Many nasal patients who have undergone nasal endoscopic surgery often attach great importance to the surgery, but do not understand the post-operative follow-up, which often prevents the disease from being cured and leads to recurrence and the need for another surgery. In fact, nasal diseases are obviously different from other parts of the body. Most nasal diseases are prone to recurrence, but if we can insist on post-operative review with good surgical quality, the chance of recurrence is very low. In order to reduce recurrence of the disease, in addition to the need for successful nasal endoscopic surgery, post-operative follow-up is very important. The recovery of the postoperative nasal mucosa takes about six months, during which the formation of mucosal edema, vesicles and granulation constantly interferes with the normal recovery of the mucosa of the operative cavity. Therefore, it is necessary to see the doctor regularly for follow-up, who will guide the medication according to the situation of the operated cavity and promptly clean up the lesioned tissues to promote the early recovery of the mucosa. After the mucosa of the operated cavity has completely recovered, the mucosa will have a strong resistance to the formation of polyps and other lesioned tissues again, thus reducing recurrence and achieving cure. The first follow-up is usually 1 week after surgery, when the surgeon will perform a thorough cleaning of the nasal cavity to remove nasal blood clots and scabs in order to promote wound healing and prevent nasal adhesions. Then, the follow-up is usually once a month for the first six months, once every 2-3 months for the second six months, and once every six months thereafter.
