What are the arterial veins of the penis for?

The blood supply to the penis mainly comes from the arteries, and then the blood returns from the veins.
1. Penile artery: The dorsal penile artery runs between the deep penile fascia and the tunica albuginea, while the deep penile artery passes through the pedicle and enters the corpus cavernosum of the penis. During sexual arousal, the vascular smooth muscle stretches and a large amount of blood rushes in, and it is an important structure capable of causing erection of the penis.
2. Penile veins: The dorsal penile vein collects blood from tiny veins in the prepuce and subcutaneous area of the penis, which then mixes into the saphenous vein. The deep dorsal penile vein collects venous blood from the head and corpus cavernosum of the penis, which enters the pelvis and joins the prostatic venous plexus.
Good arteries and veins of the penis are the criteria for evaluating the function of erectile dysfunction.
