How to self-test for glans

Symptoms of glans are burning and itching sensation on the glans, redness and swelling of the foreskin and increase in abnormal discharge. Glans cannot be detected by self-testing, but must be examined by laboratory tests, physical examination and imaging tests, etc. under the advice of a specialized doctor.
1. Laboratory examination: the secretions on the surface of the glans will be subjected to bacterial culture, fungal culture and other examinations. If there is urethral secretion, mycoplasma, chlamydia culture or bacterial culture of the secretion is also needed. If necessary, it is also necessary to collect urine samples for examination or local tissues and other ways to check glans.
2. Physical examination: When the external genitalia are exposed, a physical examination should be performed to check whether the glans is red, swollen, ulcerated, with increased secretions, or accompanied by changes such as local skin damage and swelling. Through the physical examination, an experienced doctor can make a preliminary judgment on whether there is glansitis or what kind of glansitis may exist.
3. Imaging: If glans is accompanied by swollen lymph nodes in the inguinal region, ultrasound examination of the inguinal region can be performed. If the glans is accompanied by scrotal enlargement, ultrasound examination of the scrotum can be performed.
Patients with symptoms of glansitis should go to the hospital in time.
