Dry cough for several days in a 6-year-old baby can be seen in respiratory tract infections, cough variant asthma, etc. Intervention needs to be decided according to the cause. For example, if you suspect pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection, you need to actively use azithromycin and other anti-infective treatment.
1. Respiratory tract infections: such as bronchopneumonia and acute bronchitis caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection, cough may appear, often presenting a dry cough, and with the development of the disease, sputum gradually appears to increase, often accompanied by fever.
Active use of macrolide antibacterial drugs (such as erythromycin or azithromycin) anti-infective treatment is needed, and for the more serious need for intravenous infusion treatment. At the same time, oral pulmonary cough can be used to relieve cough symptoms, and if necessary, inhaled glucocorticosteroids (such as budesonide) need to be used for nebulization therapy, to play a local anti-inflammatory effect.
2. Cough variant asthma: for children with a history of this disease, the above symptoms may occur, we need to pay attention to avoid pollen, cold air and other factors that can easily cause cough, and standardized treatment, such as oral leukotriene receptor antagonist (eg, montelukast) to reduce airway responsiveness, and so on.
3. Other: If there is smoking in the surrounding environment, children may be stimulated by smoke, which may cause the above symptoms, and such factors should be avoided.
All of the above medications should be used under the supervision of a physician, and it is recommended to actively seek medical attention and evaluation by a specialist for appropriate intervention.
