Helicobacter pylori and treatment Overview: Also known as Helicobacter pylori, or HP for short, lives in the stomach and duodenum. It causes minor chronic inflammation of the gastric mucosa and can even lead to gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastric cancer. Screening method: The most commonly used “breath test” (about 50 yuan). Caution: PPI and other acid suppressants and antibiotics can affect the HP test results and cause false negatives. The test should be repeated after 2 weeks of discontinuation of acid suppressants or 4 weeks of antibiotics. Applicable groups for HP eradication treatment: chronic gastritis with gastric mucosal atrophy and intestinalization, chronic gastritis with dyspeptic symptoms, planned long-term use of NSAIDS (non-steroidal antipyretic analgesics, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.), family history of gastric cancer. Protocol: Quadruple therapy: standard dose of proton pump inhibitors (PPI, such as omeprazole, rabeprazole, pantoprazole, esomeprazole, etc.) + standard dose of bismuth (RBC, such as bismuth potassium citrate) + two of the following antibiotics (clarithromycin 0.5g,amoxicillin 1.0g,metronidazole 0.4g/tenidazole 0.5g,furazolidone 0.1g,levofloxacin 0.2g). 2 times daily for 7-10 days.
