Limited emphysema in the right middle lobe of the lung simply means the presence of limited emphysematous changes in the middle lobe of the right lung. Emphysema refers to a pathological condition in which the lung tissue loses elasticity, increases in volume, and appears permanently dilated. It can be divided into two types of emphysema: irregular emphysema and pneumomediastinum, depending on the specific form and cause of the emphysema. Irregular emphysema usually occurs near scar tissue in the lung, while pneumomegaly is a focal destruction of alveoli that causes two or more alveoli to fuse with each other to form a larger cavity. The vast majority of focal emphysema does not cause any symptoms and therefore does not usually require treatment and does not have a significant impact on the body.
