Difference between multiple luminal infarction and cerebral infarction

The difference between multiple lacunar infarcts and cerebral infarcts lies mainly in the fact that multiple lacunar infarcts are one of the types of cerebral infarcts, and multiple lacunar infarcts refer to multiple lacunar cerebral infarcts. Multiple means that the patient has more than one lesion in the brain, in more than 2-3 or more. Lacunar cerebral infarction means that the size of the infarct in the patient’s brain is small, with an exact diameter of 1.5-2 cm or less. This kind of cerebral infarction has no obvious clinical symptoms because the infarct is small and the compensatory function of the surrounding tissues is good, and the patient mostly has no obvious clinical manifestations, no dizziness, numbness or weakness of the limbs, speech dysfunction, etc. They are all found to exist when doing examinations, such as doing cranial CT or cranial MRI, and no special treatment is needed for the lesions, only the identification of risk factors and appropriate prevention to prevent further increase of lesions.
