There are multiple factors that determine how long a patient with a cerebral infarction will die, and they are more difficult to answer. If the patient is older, has a larger cerebral infarct, develops neurological symptoms, such as more severe paralysis, and in some cases, even develops impaired consciousness. If these severe symptoms occur, the survival time of brain infarction patients may be short, no more than six months in short cases and no more than 1-2 years in long cases. If some patients are relatively young themselves, with less underlying diseases, and the area of brain infarction is relatively small, and the paralysis is not heavy. With active secondary prevention treatment and rehabilitation, these patients can survive as long as patients without cerebral infarction, and it is entirely possible for them to live up to 70-80 years old.
