Redness, swelling and pain inside the ears of children may be related to otitis externa, otitis media and tympanitis.
1. Otitis externa: Children who have the habit of digging their ears often may cause damage to the external auditory canal, which is easily infected by bacteria, causing redness, swelling and pain inside the ear.
2. otitis media: because of the incomplete development of children’s Eustachian tube, if an upper respiratory tract infection occurs, bacteria can easily pass through the Eustachian tube retrograde to the middle ear cavity, causing otitis media resulting in redness, swelling and pain in the ears.
3. Tympanitis: If a child has red, swollen and painful ears, accompanied by tinnitus and hearing loss, he or she may also have tympanitis.
There may be other reasons for your child’s red, swollen and painful ears, so it is recommended that you take your child to the hospital to find out the cause of the problem and standardize the treatment.
