Matters related to follow-up visits for patients with extremity trauma

The significance of the follow-up visit is: 1, to further track the effectiveness of treatment, to improve the treatment plan, to provide more patients with better quality, safe, effective, proven medical services, is a very meaningful work for the benefit of people and themselves! Your contribution to benefit more people, you are also invariably doing good deeds. 2.Provide you with continuous, comprehensive and full functional rehabilitation guidance, so that your injuries and illnesses to recover the best. 3.Establish a benign long-term, harmonious and win-win doctor-patient relationship. Follow up visit time point and purpose: 1.Check the wound healing situation about two weeks after discharge, to prevent delayed infection, wound blood accumulation and other factors affecting healing; and some wounds need to remove stitches. 2.Most of the extremity trauma, especially tendon, non-articular fracture and even broken finger can recover good function through standardized and systematic functional rehabilitation, so we must pay attention to the importance of follow-up and functional rehabilitation, “three parts surgery, seven parts rehabilitation”. (1) fracture: about 1 month after surgery to check the healing of fracture repositioning, internal and external fixation, most can consider removing the external fixation; 2-3 months after surgery clinical healing period: to check the speed of bone healing, guide functional exercises, and decide on a comprehensive treatment plan; non-joint internal fixation can be considered for removal 3-18 months after surgery; (2) tendon: weekly review after surgery, 1 month (2) tendon: weekly postoperative review, functional rehabilitation guidance with amplitude and frequency control within 1 month; removal of external fixation can be considered around 1-1.5 months; 2-4 months after surgery; the critical period of motor function rehabilitation, failure to obtain systematic and effective rehabilitation exercises may face the pain of surgical release and poor results; (3) broken finger: around 1 month after surgery to check the blood flow, review the X-ray film to clarify the fracture healing, consider removing fixation, guidance of functional exercises; 1.5 months after surgery (4) skin flap: 3-6 months after surgery, shape remodeling to determine whether to repair the shape, improve the appearance and function; (5) nerve: postoperative review once a month; if necessary, electromyography, ultrasound and other tests to clarify the recovery of nerve function, can give nerve (5) Nerve: monthly postoperative review; EMG, ultrasound and other tests are necessary to clarify the recovery of nerve function.
