The fever of tonsillitis usually takes a few days to burn, mainly related to the treatment and the individual patient’s situation, and should be analyzed on a case-by-case basis, not to be generalized.
Tonsillitis is a common clinical inflammatory reaction, if it is caused by simple tonsillitis or secondary bacterial infection, patients can mostly reduce their fever within 2-3 days by paying attention to rest, drinking more water, avoiding spicy and stimulating foods, and with sensitive antibiotic treatment. However, medication consolidation is still needed for about 1 week to strictly prevent recurrence. In purulent tonsillitis, especially in children, the fever may extend to 5-7 days, or longer if complications arise. Fever caused by tonsillitis that exceeds 38.5°C may be treated with antipyretic drugs to prevent adverse effects of persistent high fever on the patient.
In addition, patients are advised to take rest, eat a light diet, actively take physical methods to lower the temperature during fever, and avoid straining and eating spicy and stimulating foods.
