Why do you have a fever after a brain hemorrhage?

The cause of fever after cerebral hemorrhage may be due to blood stasis and compression, impairment of the thermoregulatory center, or because of bacterial infection. Cerebral hemorrhage refers to non-traumatic bleeding of the brain parenchyma, mainly caused by rupture of blood vessels. Blood stasis can compress the hypothalamus, and the thermoregulatory center is located in the hypothalamus. Any disease that injures the hypothalamus can cause central fever (e.g., rupture of the basilar artery), so central fever may occur after cerebral hemorrhage. Infectious fever can also be caused if there is a combination of other diseases, such as sepsis and subacute bacterial endocarditis. When fever after cerebral hemorrhage occurs, it is necessary to find out the cause of the disease and carry out targeted treatment while symptomatic cooling treatment. It is recommended to seek medical treatment as early as possible to obtain timely and effective treatment from specialized doctors at an early stage.
