Generally speaking, women can achieve the effect of relieving dysmenorrhea by moxibustion of the three acupoints Guanyuan, Qihai and Sanyinjiao every day.
Moxibustion has the effect of removing cold and dampness, activating blood circulation and blood stasis, warming the menstruation and opening up the channels. It can be used to treat the symptoms of cold pain in the abdomen caused by coldness and blood stasis in the uterus, pain that decreases with heat, reduced menstruation, and dark and lumpy menstruation. It can be used at the following three main acupoints
1. Guanyuan Point, located on the anterior midline of the lower abdomen of the human body, 3 inches below the center of the navel.
2. Qihai point, located on the midline of the abdomen, 1.5 inches below the navel.
3. Sanyinjiao point, located on the inner side of the lower leg, behind the medial border of the tibia, 3 inches above the tip of the inner ankle.
Moxibustion method: Women with menstrual cramps can start moxibustion a week or so before the onset of menstruation. Find the exact location of the point, light the moxa sticks at a height of about 3 centimeters from the skin, and keep smoking back and forth at a temperature that is comfortable for you. Do this once a day for 15-20 minutes at each of the three points.
Note that because moxibustion is smoked with fire, women should be very careful when operating to prevent burns to the local skin. In addition, the time of moxibustion points is best controlled half an hour after meals, and it is generally not recommended to do it on an empty stomach or immediately after meals.
Finally, after the symptoms of dysmenorrhea, you should first go to the hospital to confirm whether it is caused by organic lesions, in the exclusion of organic lesions before moxibustion treatment under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine, do not operate privately, so as not to cause damage to the organism.
