CA refers to the glycoantigens and CA125 is a tumor marker, this test is highly visible in benign or malignant lesions. CA125 is a tumor reference marker, not qualitative or definitive, and is usually used for screening to assess tumor risk and prognosis. The test is performed in patients with suspected tumors or as part of routine cancer screening. Its elevation can be seen in benign diseases such as ovarian chocolate cysts, adnexitis, endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, peritonitis, etc.; and malignant diseases such as fallopian tube adenocarcinoma, endometrial carcinoma, cervical carcinoma, pancreatic carcinoma, intestinal carcinoma, breast carcinoma and lung carcinoma.
