Patients with heavy dampness are advised to take medications such as Sen Ling Bai Zhu San and Er Chen Tang under the guidance of a doctor. There is no saying that eating one thing can get rid of it. Ginseng Ling and Atractylodes Macrocephalae San has the effect of tonifying the spleen and stomach and benefiting the lungs and qi. It is used for the weak spleen and stomach, caused by the little food and loose stools (feces thin and not shaped), shortness of breath and cough, tiredness and fatigue. Er Chen Tang, with the effects of drying dampness and resolving phlegm (removing phlegm from the body by drying dampness), regulating qi and harmonizing the middle (regulating the qi of the spleen and stomach, so as to make the functions of the spleen and stomach smooth). It is used for treating dampness-phlegm syndrome. Symptoms include cough with excessive phlegm, white color and easy to swallow, nausea and vomiting, chest and diaphragm constriction, heavy limbs (limb weakness and heaviness), or dizziness and palpitation (rapid heartbeat, often accompanied by panic). Er Chen Tang should be used with caution for those with dry phlegm; and is contraindicated for those with vomiting of blood, thirst, yin deficiency and blood deficiency. Prompt medical attention is recommended in case of discomfort. If medication is needed, it should be diagnosed by a doctor and regulated according to the doctor’s prescription.
