Is it normal to have a jaundice level of 10 at 25 days?

Jaundice value is the serum bilirubin value. A serum bilirubin value of 10mg/dl in a 25-day-old neonate is abnormal and jaundice is considered to be present and should be treated promptly. Under normal circumstances, the serum bilirubin value of a 25-day-old newborn should be <5mg/dl, and jaundice visible to the naked eye can be diagnosed as neonatal jaundice when it exceeds 5-7mg/dl. Neonatal jaundice can be categorized into physiological jaundice and pathological jaundice. Physiologic jaundice usually appears 2~3 days after birth, and can subside in 5~7 days, not more than 2 weeks at the latest, such as preterm infants, physiologic jaundice can last for 3~4 weeks. Pathologic jaundice usually appears earlier, lasts longer, or reappears after jaundice subsides, and newborns may have symptoms such as depression, milk refusal, irritability, and weak sucking. Monitor serum bilirubin for daily elevations >5 mg/dl. The value of serum bilirubin is 10mg/dl in newborns born on 25 days, we should continue to monitor the value of serum bilirubin, and actively give medication and light therapy to avoid the occurrence of nuclear jaundice, which will jeopardize the health of newborns.
