A positive EBV antigen lga is not serious. A positive test only indicates that the person has been previously infected with EBV and does not mean that he or she has nasopharyngeal cancer. About 95% of adults have been infected with EBV, and only 3%-10% of EBV antibody-positive people will be transformed into nasopharyngeal cancer patients, which indicates that the occurrence of tumor is not caused by the single factor of EBV, but by a combination of hereditary and environmental factors. Don’t panic after finding EBV positive, first of all, go to the hospital as soon as possible, the doctor will judge according to the detailed medical history and nasopharyngeal examination, EB blood test is one of the most clinically applied tests with the greatest significance of screening, and MRI and even pathological tissue biopsy will be used for further confirmation if necessary. If the antibody is found to be positive, the nasopharyngeal cavity should be further examined by specialists to rule out the possibility of tumors. Especially for some subjects with high positive titers, in-depth examination and regular follow-up are very necessary, which can help early detection and treatment of nasopharyngeal cancer. If the nasopharyngeal examination does not show any abnormality, then only blood test is needed to follow up the EBV antibody titer.
