Harmful effects of dichlorvos on humans

Dichlorvos is a highly toxic organophosphorus pesticide. Poisoning can be manifested as muscarinic symptoms, nicotinic symptoms, central nervous system symptoms, local symptoms.
1. Muscarinic symptoms: pupil narrowing, abdominal pain, diarrhea, urinary and fecal incontinence, increased glandular secretion manifested as profuse sweating, tearing, salivation, increased respiratory secretion manifested as shortness of breath, and in severe cases, pulmonary edema.
2. Nicotinic-like symptoms: manifested as generalized strong muscle spasm, muscle weakness or even paralysis; respiratory muscle paralysis or even respiratory failure; increased blood pressure and cardiac arrhythmia.
3. Central nervous system symptoms: dizziness and headache, agitation, delirium, convulsions and coma.
4. Local symptoms: local dermatitis, blisters, conjunctival congestion and so on.
A small amount of dichlorvos can cause poisoning, after treatment, most of them will leave sequelae, and moderate to severe poisoning can lead to death. Daily life should avoid unsafe use or accidental ingestion of dichlorvos, once found poisoning should be treated in the hospital as soon as possible.
