Urinary tract infections in women are prone to recurrence but can be prevented

Women are prone to urinary tract infections, and like vaginitis, they like to “come and go”. Any of the first-line drugs can be taken at night at 1/4 to 1/6 of their regular daily dose for 6 to 12 weeks. Commonly used prophylactic medications include: furantoin, Pioneerin IV, cotrimoxazole, etc. If it still recurs, consider extending the duration and changing to 1 time every other day. 2.In order to prevent urinary tract infection, change the habits of daily life: Drink sufficient amount of water. You can drink more beverages containing vitamin C appropriately, which can increase the acidity of urine and keep the bladder wall smooth, causing an environment where it is difficult for bacteria to grow and multiply. Do not hold urine, have the urge to urinate that urination. Before sex, both men and women should wash their perineum, and immediately after sex, they should urinate once to flush out bacteria. After defecating, women should wipe their anus from the front to the back, not back and forth. Cotton underwear should be worn, and clothes should not be too tightly fitted so that there is local air circulation, which helps keep the area dry. Do not wear tight-fitting jeans and nylon underwear as these can make the lower body moist and this environment can help bacteria to grow. Note: Urinary tract infections should be treated with antibiotics, which should not be stopped immediately after they are effective, but should be continued for 3 to 7 days. In case of acute pyelonephritis it should be taken continuously for 4-6 weeks and it is better to change one effective antibiotic every week. In addition, recurrent urinary tract infections should not be treated repeatedly with the same type of antimicrobial agent, otherwise the body is prone to drug resistance and affect the efficacy. If the initial treatment is not effective, the cause should be investigated as soon as possible and a midstream urine culture and bacterial sensitivity test should be performed.
