Dietary therapy for urinary tract infections

Urinary tract infections include urethritis, cystitis, pyelonephritis and renal tuberculosis. The main clinical manifestations are frequent, urgent and painful urination. Most of them are caused by bacterial infections and should be treated with antibacterial drugs. If possible, it is best to conduct a mid-phase urine bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test first, and then select the appropriate drug for treatment according to the test results. If the patient has repeatedly and repeatedly developed symptoms of episiotomy, the presence of reflux nephropathy should be noted. Drug therapy can be complemented by dietary therapy if it is accompanied by medication. In addition, there are some patients, although there are symptoms such as frequent urination, urinary urgency, but did all aspects of the detailed examination of the person failed to find the pathogen, medically called non-infectious urinary tract syndrome, treatment with antibacterial drugs is not only ineffective, but will cause side effects due to long-term use of antibacterial drugs, in this case, self-medication with diet has a more important status. In general, patients with urinary tract infections should drink more water and urinate more often. Drinking at least 2 liters of water and urinating every 2-3 hours is the most practical and effective method. By the flushing effect of large amounts of urine, some of the bacteria can be removed. Pay frequent attention to the cleanliness and hygiene of the pubic area so that bacteria from the urethra do not enter the urinary tract and re-cause urinary tract infections. Avoid catheterization as much as possible to avoid bringing bacteria into the urinary tract. Women who are prone to urinary tract infections should advise their husbands to clean their pubic area when having sex, in addition to cleaning their own vulva beforehand, because bacteria around the female urethra and urethral opening can be squeezed into the posterior urethra and bladder during sexual intercourse, thus causing infection.
