What is nail fungus? How is it diagnosed and treated?

Nail fungus is a common and frequent disease in surgical clinics, manifested by severe local redness, swelling, heat and severe pain, or with the growth of granulation tissue, which narrows the nail bed. It is common in adolescents and often recurs repeatedly, seriously affecting the patient’s study, life and work. The main reasons for its occurrence are: 1. The edge of the toenail is trimmed too low, too deep or trimmed with a sharp angle, causing the edge of the toenail to get stuck in the flesh. 2, shoes are too small and too tight, caused by the forefoot extrusion. 3.Injuries caused by inadvertence in daily life and activities, such as kicking and stepping. 4.About 15% of patients are directly or indirectly related to nail fungus. In the treatment of nail fungus, if the nail bed is not trimmed by conventional nail pulling, or if the granulation tissue is simply removed, after the wound heals, the nail bed is narrow and the growing toenail continues to grow inside the flesh, resulting in a recurrence of nail fungus.
