Amblyopia cannot be treated by laser surgery. Amblyopia is defined as low vision caused by abnormal visual experience during visual development, resulting in lower than normal optimal visual acuity in both eyes or in one eye, with no organic pathology on eye examination. The main treatment for patients with amblyopia is early detection, refractive error correction, removal of form deprivation factors, correction of strabismus, and treatment for visual function enhancement using a variety of integrated approaches. The treatment of amblyopia requires individualized programs based on different ages and conditions, and with the long-term plasticity of the nervous system, adults who discover amblyopia should not easily give up treatment.
