The causes of toenail cover falling off include trauma, toenail disease (such as onychomycosis) and other causes, and the treatment includes medication, surgical treatment and so on.
1. Trauma: If the toenail is broken by heavy object, there is often pain, soft tissue damage, bleeding and other manifestations. If the tear is serious, surgical treatment such as suture and debridement is needed. If there is no damage to the surrounding tissues, it can be dealt with by regular cleaning and changing of medication.
Do not expose the toenail wound to water, avoid walking for a long time, and rest. New toenails will gradually grow in later stages.
2. Onychomycosis (gray toenails): If the disease is not cured for a long time, it may cause nails to fall off. After the nails fall off, anti-infection treatment should be given to the local tissues, such as topical glacial acetic acid solution, urea ointment, cyclopiazepine and amorolfine, etc., and oral medication such as itraconazole, terbinafine and fluconazole.
Note: Soak the nail in medicated water during the growth process to prevent the new toenail from being infected by germs.
3. Malnutrition: Some people may also suffer from long-term malnutrition (e.g. micronutrient deficiencies, calcium deficiencies, etc.), resulting in poor growth and development of toenails, which may cause them to fall off. Therefore, you should supplement the lack of nutrition, such as taking vitamin D, etc., and eat more nutritious food such as fish, milk, fresh fruits and vegetables.
If the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to go to the hospital for early treatment. The above medications should be used under the guidance of a doctor or pharmacist, avoid self-medication.
