Diabetic patients pay attention to the maintenance of the feet

  Diabetic patients due to vascular and neuropathy, very easy to cause dry, cracked foot skin, bacterial infection, serious skin ulcers and even toe necrosis, medically known as “diabetic foot”. Therefore, diabetics should pay attention to the protection of the feet. Choose the right shoes: The size of shoes should fit the size of your feet, not squeeze your feet, check if the shoes are rough inside first when you wear them, and don’t wear shoes that you feel uncomfortable. If you have the conditions, you can wear special protective shoes for diabetes. Also, try not to walk barefoot indoors or outdoors.  Pay attention to the warmth of your feet: use breathable and sweat-absorbing cotton socks, which should not be too tight to avoid affecting blood circulation, and socks should be changed every day.  Foot washing: wash your feet with mild soap every day, with a water temperature of 40 degrees or less, you can soak them in a decoction of Chinese herbal blood-boosting and blood-cleansing drugs for 10 minutes to help restore the blood vessels and nerve function of the feet, and gently dry them with a soft towel after washing.  Do not use the stove, heating to warm the feet: diabetic patients due to peripheral neuropathy of the feet, insensitive to changes in temperature, normal people feel the right temperature, diabetic patients may already belong to the injury-prone conditions, so you can not use hot water bags, heaters, oil lamps, heaters, etc. directly warm feet, otherwise they are easy to be burned.  Early medical consultation and treatment: Once a foot ulcer occurs in a diabetic patient, it is important to go to a specialist hospital early to avoid further damage.
