Patients with a bumped head are given tetanus antitoxin injections as appropriate; deeper wounds require tetanus antitoxin injections. If the wound is shallow, it usually does not need to be injected.
If the wound is deeper, tetanus may occur and tetanus antitoxin should be injected to prevent tetanus; if the wound is shallow, tetanus prophylaxis is not necessary, because shallow wounds belong to an aerobic environment where tetanus bacilli are not easy to survive.
Patients who have been hit on the head should not blindly play tetanus antitoxin to avoid unnecessary losses, it is recommended to actively seek medical attention, under the guidance of the physician.
