For patients with 500-degree myopia, bungee jumping is generally possible, but it is not recommended if fundus pathology occurs.
500-degree myopia belongs to moderate myopia, although the eye axis may be longer than normal, but the majority of patients do not appear peripheral retinal degeneration, lacunae and other myopic fundus lesions, therefore, to perform extreme sports, generally has no effect, and bungee jumping is belonging to extreme sports.
A small number of patients with 500 degrees of myopia, although moderate myopia, may still be due to the growth of the eye axis and peripheral retinal thinning, and then develop retinal degeneration, lacunae and other lesions, is not recommended bungee jumping, otherwise, may induce retinal detachment and other more serious complications.
It is recommended that patients seek medical examination to clarify whether the fundus is diseased, if the fundus is normal, bungee jumping is allowed.
