Acupuncture points that can be massaged for stomach pain include the foot Sanli, the middle epigastric region, and the Neiguan.
1. Foot Sanli: Located on the lateral side of the lower leg, 3 inches below the calf’s nose, 1 transverse finger outside the anterior ridge of the tibia, on the line between the calf’s nose and the Xiexi. Mainly treats stomach pain, vomiting, abdominal distension, diarrhea, dysentery, constipation and so on.
2. Middle epigastric region: located in the upper abdomen, 4 inches above the umbilicus, on the anterior midline. It is used for treating stomachache, abdominal distension, nausea (lack of appetite, reduced food intake), vomiting, acid swallowing (swallowing acid in the stomach that rushes up to the oropharynx), hiccups (burping), and dirty agitation (upset and depression, sadness and wanting to cry for no reason).
3. Neiguan: located in the anterior region of the forearm, 2 inches above the transverse stripe on the distal side of the palm of the wrist, between the tendon of the palmaris longus and the tendon of the radial flexor carpi radialis. The main treatment for heart pain, chest tightness, tachycardia or bradycardia, stomach pain, vomiting, eructation, stroke, hemiplegia, vertigo, migraine, insomnia and so on.
Patients with stomach pain should pay attention to three meals a day at regular intervals, and should not overeat or eat spicy, stimulating, raw or cold food.
