There is generally no relationship between high alpha-fetoprotein and staying up late. High alpha-fetoprotein may be caused by liver cancer, cirrhosis, pregnancy, and so on.
1. Pregnancy: Fetoprotein is a kind of embryonic antigen, which may be slightly elevated during the development of the fetus during pregnancy, and can be lowered to the normal value after the birth of the fetus, so it is not necessary to have special treatment. Generally, no special treatment is needed. This is a normal physiological phenomenon, so don’t worry too much.
2. Hepatocellular carcinoma: cancer cells proliferate and a large number of undifferentiated cells in the liver will produce alpha-fetoprotein, which may be significantly elevated. Pathologic biopsy can be done for clear diagnosis.
3. Cirrhosis: A large number of liver cells are necrotic, and the regeneration process of liver cells may result in temporary elevation of alpha-fetoprotein when drugs are used to repair the liver cells, etc. Generally, alpha-fetoprotein will not be elevated significantly in this case.
If there is a high alpha-fetoprotein, excluding pregnancy and other physiological reasons, it may also be caused by stomach cancer, ovarian cysts, etc., you should consult a doctor in time to find out the reasons under the guidance of the doctor and carry out reasonable treatment, so as not to delay the condition. Long-term staying up late will affect your health, usually avoid staying up late, rest as early as possible, and ensure sufficient sleep.
