Vaginal bleeding during non-menstrual periods is commonly caused by the following: 1. Bleeding due to localized redundancy of the vagina or cervix, or damage to the vaginal or cervical mucosa, gynecological examination is recommended to find out whether there are local abnormalities, as well as routine leucorrhoea examination and cervical cancer screening. 2. 3. Submucosal fibroids or endometriosis may also cause small amount of vaginal bleeding during non-menstrual period. Therefore, in this clinical situation, it is recommended to do a detailed gynecological examination and, if necessary, ultrasound examination to find out whether there are abnormal tumors in the pelvis. If the endometrium is still thickened in this case, a diagnostic curettage is recommended.
