Ointments for vulvar itching include mometasone ointment, paregoric pine ointment, and dermaplanin ointment can all bring relief to vulvar itching. However, if vulvar itching occurs, it is best to find out the cause of the itching and then give medication to avoid delaying the condition. For example, if the vulvar itching is caused by pseudomonal vaginal yeast disease, applying creams to relieve itching is only a temporary relief and cannot achieve the root cause. The condition also manifests clinically as a tofu-like vaginal discharge and severe itching that makes the patient restless. In addition to topical creams to relieve itching, the pH of the vagina needs to be changed by washing the vagina with 5% sodium bicarbonate followed by intra-vaginal plugs of dacrynic acid soft capsules or clotrimazole suppositories to achieve a complete cure.
