Can lung cancer headache be brain metastasis?

Lung cancer headache may not necessarily be brain metastasis, but if lung cancer patients have severe and prolonged headache, intracranial metastasis should be highly suspected. Brain metastasis of lung cancer is often accompanied by nausea, vomiting and other symptoms of increased intracranial pressure, as well as language disorder, unfavorable limbs, and in severe cases, mental changes, etc. Patients should undergo further examination, such as cranial MRI to confirm the diagnosis. If symptoms of cranial metastasis appear, radiation therapy and drugs such as mannitol should be used to lower the cranial pressure. Headache caused by lung cancer patients should be differentiated from headache caused by other diseases. Patients with lung cancer who have headache should highly suspect whether it has metastasized to the head and should have timely examination and treatment.
