A New Approach to Stomach Cancer Treatment

Gastric cancer is a common malignant tumor, which is the first place of mortality caused by malignant tumors in China, and it has always been high. Recent statistics show that the number of gastric cancer cases in China accounts for about 40% of the global gastric cancer cases, which seriously threatens people’s health and causes great impact on families and society, and improving the treatment effect of progressive gastric cancer has become an urgent clinical problem. With the further development of radical gastric cancer treatment, it has been gradually discovered that the treatment effect of radical gastric cancer treatment is not proportional to the expanding scope of surgical clearance, and the treatment effect of radical gastric cancer treatment on gastric cancer has reached its limit. With the rapid progress of cancer treatment methods in other fields, surgery-based comprehensive treatment has become an important method to further improve the efficacy of mid- to late-stage gastric cancer, and neoadjuvant chemotherapy for gastric cancer has emerged. Since 2001, we have borrowed the experience of Nakajima et al. in Japan and selected localized progressive gastric cancer cases for neoadjuvant chemotherapy by the FLEP method of combined arteriovenous drug delivery, which has achieved relatively satisfactory results. for treatment. To date, 73 cases have been treated, with an efficiency of 84%. And 51 of them have been treated from difficult to resect to complete resection. This result won the best poster award at the 5th International Congress of Gastric Cancer. In July 2008, we conducted an in-depth multicenter study of this method in conjunction with ten tertiary hospitals in the Suwan region to explore new and more effective treatment modalities to further improve the treatment of gastric cancer.
