Why does it hurt when you press your stomach?

If a patient presents with pain when the stomach is pressed, there are usually several factors. The most common disease is digestive system factors, such as the presence of acute gastroenteritis, acute cholecystitis, pancreatitis and diffuse peritonitis, which can cause significant pain when the stomach is pressed. In the case of urologic diseases, often caused by kidney and ureteral strictures and stones, pressure on the stomach will reflexively cause involvement pain. General surgical diseases such as acute appendicitis, septic perforated appendicitis or acute diffuse peritonitis, gastroduodenal bulb ulcer, and severe gastrointestinal perforation all present with clinical symptoms and manifestations of pain upon pressure on the stomach. Female patients with ovarian cyst torsion, acute pelvic and adnexal inflammation, and tubal ectopic pregnancy may present with pain on pressure on the stomach.
