Difference between asthma and rhinitis

The difference between asthma and rhinitis is that asthma is a disease of the lower respiratory tract, it is bronchospasm caused by airway hyperresponsiveness, while rhinitis is in the upper respiratory tract, the disease site in the nose. Asthma and rhinitis are not the same site, the symptoms are not the same, asthma is mostly manifested as paroxysmal irritating cough or shortness of breath, typically can be heard between the laryngeal rales, most of them will be due to the cold air, pollen, dust mites and asthma attacks, while patients with rhinitis are more often manifested as nasal congestion, sneezing, and most of them will be accompanied by snoring in the night sleep. Both asthma and rhinitis require anti-allergy treatment, and patients with asthma may need to use bronchodilators or hormonal drugs because of acute attacks.
