How long does it take to get back to normal after a tracheoscopy

After the bronchoscopy is done, it usually takes 1-3 days to return to normal. Bronchoscopy is a common examination method in respiratory medicine and is relatively safe. Usually a light liquid diet is allowed only 2 hours after the examination to avoid the inadvertent aspiration of food into the trachea due to the weakened choking response after anesthesia. After bronchoscopy, recovery is usually possible in 1-3 days, while close observation of changes in the condition is required. Patients should rest appropriately and should not cough or cough hard to avoid bleeding in the lungs. It is normal for patients to have a small amount of hemoptysis after bronchoscopy, and most patients have blood in their sputum. In case of large hemoptysis, the patient should be resuscitated in the emergency department in time to avoid serious conditions. In addition, patients may have numbness and foreign body sensation in the throat after surgery, which is caused by the anesthesia drug has not completely worn off, and generally no special treatment is needed, so there is no need to worry too much.
