Why Exfoliative Keratolysis Has Never Been Cured

The possible reason why exfoliative keratolysis has not been cured is that its cause is still unclear and may be related to genetic and environmental factors, which can only alleviate the symptoms but not cure them.
Exfoliative Keratolysis, also known as laminar dyshidrosis, is characterized by recurrent episodes of scaling and peeling on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. It may be related to emotional, environmental, genetic and other factors, and the etiology is still unclear.
Treatment is mainly symptomatic relief by medications such as urea ointment, vitamin E, 3% salicylic acid ointment, and in severe cases, small doses of tretinoin can also be applied. Although exfoliative keratolysis is self-limiting, it is prone to recurrence, which can occur several times in a year, and therefore exfoliative keratolysis has not been cured.
Exfoliative keratolysis should be standardized under the guidance of a doctor, and keep a good mind. Normally, the hands and feet should not be in contact with irritating objects as much as possible, prohibit eating too spicy and stimulating food, and avoid contact with alkaline detergents.
