What medication is used to treat senile pubitis

Treatment of senile vaginitis is mainly based on estrogen supplementation, inhibition of bacterial growth and strengthening of vaginal resistance. Inhibition of bacterial growth is usually done with metronidazole, 200 mg in the vagina, or norfloxacin 100 mg in the vagina, once a day for 7-10 days. Also, for elderly patients with vaginitis who are partially dry, lubricants can be used. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the vaginal resistance and to supplement estrogen. Estrogen supplementation is indicated for age-related vaginitis, but the main treatment is usually a localized estrogen preparation administered topically, usually with 0.5% hexestrol ointment or combined with estrogen ointment applied gradually, 1-2 times a day for 14 days. Alternatively, sex hormone replacement therapy can be given by giving estrogen 0.625 mg or medroxyprogesterone acetate 2 mg to be applied. However, this estrogen and progestin must be used with caution in patients with breast cancer.
