Can you get glaucoma from playing with your cell phone off?

Glaucoma may be induced if the patient plays with the cell phone with the light off, but it is mostly seen in patients with shallow anterior chamber, and normal patients usually do not develop glaucoma.
Patients with shallow anterior chamber use their eyes in a dim environment, such as playing cell phone at night with the light off, which can make the patient’s pupil reflexively dilated, so that the peripheral part of the iris tissue accumulates in the atrial angle, making the angle of the atrium become narrow, increasing the resistance to atrial fluid drainage, which can easily lead to the patient’s intraocular pressure rise, and may induce glaucoma attack.
Normal people can also experience eye discomfort at night when they turn off the light and play with their cell phones, but it usually does not induce a glaucoma attack. Glaucoma is a common disease in ophthalmology, and it is the 2nd most common blinding eye disease and the 1st irreversible blinding eye disease, which may cause serious harm to the patient’s visual function once it develops.
Patients with glaucoma are advised to seek prompt medical attention to evaluate their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
