Cold-dampness is heavy, should I take the Spleen Pills or the Spleen Enhancement Pills?

Both the Spleen Restoring Pills and the Spleen Strengthening Pills are strong in benefiting the qi and strengthening the spleen, but are not effective enough in warming the cold-dampness, and are not suitable for those who are in the middle of the cold-dampness stage. Those with severe cold-dampness should go to the Chinese medicine department and have a doctor prescribe a prescription for them. The medicines that can be used for the treatment include Radix Rehmanniae Pill and Ling Gui Jie Gan Tang. Pill consists of Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Radix et Rhizoma Gingerae, etc. It has the effect of warming the middle and strengthening the spleen. It is mainly used for the treatment of cold pain in the stomach and epigastric region, vomiting, diarrhea, and lack of warmth in the hands and feet due to coldness in the spleen and stomach. Avoid spicy, stimulating and sticky food during the period of taking the medicine; patients with cold and fever should not take this product; pregnant women should be cautious. Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang has the efficacy of warming yang and transforming drink (warming yang qi in the body to promote the metabolism of water and fluid), strengthening the spleen and inducing dampness, and treating phlegm and drink (the pathological products formed by the impaired metabolism of water and fluid) with deficiency of zhong yang. The symptoms include distension of chest and ribs, blurred vision, uncomfortable heartbeat, shortness of breath and coughing, and nausea, scanty stools, bloating in a weakened spleen and stomach. This formula is not suitable for those who cough up phlegm and sticky phlegm due to the transformation of heat by drinking. The above two prescriptions are only for recommendation, please refer to the physician’s prescription, do not blindly use drugs, so as to avoid the delay of the disease is not the right medicine.
