Gurgling in the throat while swallowing may be related to gas-over-water effect, rupture of pharyngeal mucus tension, pharyngo-esophageal diverticulum and so on.
1. Gas-over-water effect: when there is gas mixed in the swallowing, a gurgling sound may appear in the process of passing through the closed lumen.
2. Pharyngeal mucus tension rupture: the pharynx is usually in a closed state, there is mucus tension between the walls, when swallowing something, such adhesion is broken, producing throat rattling.
3. Pharyngo-esophageal diverticulum: Because there is a weak triangle between the hypopharyngeal retractor and cricopharyngeal muscle, coupled with the incoordination of muscle activity. When the hypopharyngeal contraction muscle contracts to push the food down, the cricopharyngeal muscle does not relax, and after premature contraction, the esophageal mucosa is abnormally expanded from the weak area to form a pseudo-diverticulum. When the diverticulum enlarges, throat rattling may occur during swallowing.
When the throat rattling occurs frequently when swallowing something, you can actively consult a doctor for a systematic examination to clarify the cause and actively treat it.
