Stage 2 gallbladder cancer is a serious condition.
Gallbladder cancer TNM staging can be divided into 4 stages.
1.T1a is the tumor invading the mucosal layer, T1b tumor invading the mucosal muscle layer;
2. T2 is the tumor’s invasion of the muscular layer and surrounding connective tissue, but it does not penetrate the plasma membrane of the gallbladder or infiltrate the liver;
3. Stage T3 is when the tumor penetrates the plasma membrane of the gallbladder or directly into the liver, as well as involving an adjacent organ or tissue;
4. T4 stage is that in addition to the invasion of gallbladder and adjacent tissues of liver, it also enters into the hepatic artery or portal vein trunk, and two or more extrahepatic tissues or organs.
The treatment effect of gallbladder cancer is poor, and the condition still belongs to the serious degree even if it is only the second stage.
Early diagnosis of gallbladder cancer is relatively difficult, and if a mass can be felt in the gallbladder area, the disease is often in advanced stage; ultrasound is simple and easy to perform, and is often used as the first line of examination; CT examination is better than ultrasound in terms of accuracy of diagnosis.
Currently, the only effective treatment for gallbladder cancer is radical surgical resection, but the result is often unsatisfactory. If the disease is in advanced stage and radical surgery cannot be performed, palliative surgery can be considered.
Patients should seek prompt medical attention and follow medical advice.
