The exact location of the Blood Sea acupoint is 2 inches above the medial end of the patellar base, where the medial femoral (inner thigh) muscle bulges, and it should be operated and treated in accordance with medical advice.
The Blood Sea point belongs to the Foot Taiyin Spleen Meridian and is located in the anterior femoral area, 2 inches above the medial end of the patellar base, i.e., at the elevation of the medial femoral muscle.
The Blood Sea point is effective in promoting blood circulation, tonifying blood, clearing heat and removing dampness, regulating menstruation and stopping leucorrhea (regulating menstruation and reducing abnormally increased leucorrhea).
Blood Sea points can be used to treat gynecological disorders such as irregular menstruation, menstrual closure and dysmenorrhea; blood-heat skin disorders such as eczema, dengue (an acute infection in which the skin is red like red paint) and cryptorchid rash; and medial femoral pain.
